Position Description:

The MEP Specialist assists in ensuring that all MEP/FP systems are installed with the highest level of quality and turned over to the owner in a fully and properly operational state.  Working as part of the project delivery team, The MEP Specialist helps shepherd the MEP/FP (and associated systems) through the pre-construction, construction and turnover/closeout phases of a project. The MEP Specialist offers support with a strong focus on coordination between systems, both spatially and operationally, as well as field QA/QC tracking and reporting and other vital support tasks. The position entails working in both an office environment and on active construction sites.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support in his/her role as in-house consultant on Pre-Construction Services to provide a high-quality service to both internal and external clients
  • Assist the project team by reviewing MEP/FP submittals for conformance with contract requirements
  • Monitor the MEP coordination process
  • Perform QA/QC checks regularly throughout the construction process on the BIM model and flagging discrepancies in BIM360 Field
  • Work with subcontractors and assist in the startup/commissioning/ closeout process
  • Develop critical client relationships at the appropriate levels and positions
  • Maintain close communication with the project team
  • Work collaboratively with outside parties as required to achieve the client’s goals
  • Attend regularly scheduled department meetings and selected industry events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred or 5+ years demonstrable work experience with MEP/FP design, estimation, installation, and commissioning.
  • I.T. (passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) a plus
  • LEED and/or LEAN accreditation is a plus
  • Software proficiency: AutoCAD/Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
