As Vice President and General Counsel of BOND, Rebecca Klebanoff works with the executive, senior leadership, and project teams on a wide range of strategic, legal, compliance, and risk management issues. Her professional expertise is rooted in her deep industry knowledge in the field, both as outside counsel and as in-house counsel. Prior to becoming an attorney, Rebecca spent years in the construction field at Granite Construction where she worked on some of the largest and most complex projects in the country. Her nuanced and comprehensive understanding of large scale construction and utility projects lend her a competitive advantage and make her an effective in-house advocate.
Rebecca has managed the legal departments of several dynamic firms in the construction industry including a national construction management and general contracting firm and a private equity-backed niche consulting firm in the AEC space. Prior to her time at BOND, Rebecca was a construction attorney for Peckar & Abramson, working with many of the top 100 ENR-ranked construction management firms.
Whether through public speaking engagements, involvement in key industry organizations, or as an established mentor to emerging leaders, Rebecca understands that engagement within the construction community is crucial to her success. Some notable honors include being named by Building Design + Construction to the 40 under 40 class of 2022, selected by Women’s Builders Council as an Outstanding Woman in Construction in 2021 and named one of ENR New York’s Top Young Professionals in 2018. Rebecca holds a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and a B.A. and B.F.A from Syracuse University.
Beyond Bond
Construction is in Rebecca’s DNA. Her parents met on a job site, both grandfathers worked in the industry, and her great-grandfather, a civil engineer, helped build the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. When she’s not immersed in the world of construction, Rebecca enjoys cooking at home, hiking with her family, and volunteering at a local animal rescue.
