Position Description

Reporting to BOND’s Head of Talent Management, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic consultant and lead partner with BOND subsidiaries. This is a new role in the organization, and it will play an integral part in helping to grow the HR team and BOND at large. There is tremendous opportunity to make an impact and establish oneself as a high-value leader and partner. The core focus for the HRBP is aligning people management activities with organizational strategy. The HRBP ensures a top-notch employee experience to drive BOND’s objectives and success, through attracting, engaging, and retaining a diverse, high-performing, and innovative workforce.

Salary Range: $140,000 – $165,000 + bonus

Location: Bronx, NY (2 to 3 days in office with about 20% regional travel)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders, employees, and our HR Team’s Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to ensure that business objectives are understood and achieved through our people strategies.
  • Develop and maintain an effective level of business literacy including financial position, plans, culture and competition, and designated business subsidiaries’ current status and evolving plans.
  • Work with leaders and teams to assess and strengthen talent needs and practices, and their use of the talent tools, programs, and resources.
  • The HRBP will partner with leaders to ensure BOND represents our communities’ diversity and fosters an inclusive and equitable workplace where people feel they belong.
  • Serves as lead HR presence for respective BUs helping to create, drive, and measure Talent programming and experiences as a strategic and tactical partner to the business.
  • Consults with leadership, providing HR and business strategic advice to help the business achieve its goal with people. Consistently and actively engages in business subsidiary meetings to understand objectives and calibrate talent priorities.
  • Clarifies, rearticulates, and either provides the solution directly or accesses the system of resources (COE’s, etc.) to resolve them. Provides talent policy guidance, helps employees drive their careers forward.
  • Helps create, prepare, contribute, and lead the salary review process, and terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers, ensuring equity and diversity within subsidiaries and across the organization.
  • Champions Talent Management Strategy to help further drive culture, growth, experiences, and inclusion. Contributes to learning and development planning and conversations. Helps promote and champion Talent Management initiatives across BOND Brothers.
  • Helps lead the Talent Review and Developmental Process by delivering training, capturing Talent Mapping/Calibrations, and Post- Talent Review Learning and Experience Plan exercises.
  • Provides guidance and input on restructures, workforce, and succession planning, and driving these processes forward.
  • Partners with recruiting to ensure smooth resource planning and hiring process, especially around senior, high priority or critical roles that must be filled for the business to meet its goals. Supports internal mobility and resource planning.
  • Establishes metrics, makes fresh connections, and analyzes trends to provide sound guidance and recommendations to the BU leadership, and for coaching and counseling BOND talent.
  • Manages and resolves complex and senior level employee relations issues, including conducting investigations. Manage and process leave, and accommodation needs.
  • Maintains solid knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide talent policy guidance and interpretation. Partner w/CoEs to update, develop and implement policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Helps lead the development and activation of ongoing HR Comms/Publications and employer brand initiatives to help establish BOND as an employer of choice.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, OD, Business, Psychology, or a related field required; Master’s degree a plus. A track record of continuous learning in talent disciplines; certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of HRBP experience plus experience developing and leading programming or a function within HR. Experience working within matrixed organizations
  • Working knowledge of multiple talent disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, DEI, performance and career management, and compliance
  • Experience establishing and using workforce metrics to understand organizational strengths and development opportunities and initiate and drive successful change
  • Experience building and/or revamping talent programs and initiatives
  • Experience scaling practices in a high-growth and/or start-up company or business unit preferred
  • Effective influencer and coach who is a valued talent partner and advisor
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; successful track record of establishing win/win partnerships and a reputation for being a strategic thought partner
  • Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of an organization’s mission, objectives, structure, jobs, talent practices, systems, policies, and related administrative practices
  • Thorough understanding of relevant employment laws and the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies
  • Ability to facilitate change effectively so stakeholders embrace and advocate for change
  • Experienced super-user of various HRMS, Performance, and Learning tools
