Position Description:

The Development Manager’s primary role is to improve, create and implement BOND’s People and Organizational development systems related to Performance Management, Career Paths, Succession Planning, Job Ladders, and other developmental and training programs.  This will be achieved by closely partnering with leadership and management.  The Development and Learning Manager will oversee implementation and continually monitor and assess outcomes.  A key aspect of this role is identifying strategic alignment of training and development needs to meet short- term initiatives, long range strategic goals, and employees’ personal and professional growth. The manager must actively become a trusted adviser and coach to management to assist with succession planning, employee development and organizational design and structure.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage, design, and collaborate on the implementation of programs related to all people development- eg. succession planning, performance management and leadership training.
  • Proactively partner with managers to leverage and assist with People development and identify needs, gaps, and opportunities
  • Institute the organization’s overall training and development strategy and plan for BOND employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success, and ROI.
  • Manage training budget and select appropriate cost-effective vendors.
  • Advise on use of external coaching needs by establishing trusted resources and a bench of providers that align with Bond’s culture
  • Focus on making BOND a continuous learning provider by designing and deploying a wide variety of training methodologies.


  • BS or BA in education, human resources, organizational development or related discipline or equivalent work experience in the training/development field.
  • Understanding of traditional and modern training methods (e-learning, workshops, simulations, classroom etc.)
  • Professional certifications preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of professional staff.
