VANESSA BROWN NAMED FIRST CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
New role signals significant growth and investment in talent recruitment and development for the fifth-generation company
BOND Brothers Inc., the Northeast’s premier building, civil, utility and energy construction firm, today announced the appointment of Vanessa Brown as Chief Human Resources Officer. Following the release of its inaugural Sustainability Report, which outlined BOND’s commitment, accountability, and values for sustainable, long-term growth, this newly created leadership position represents a significant investment in BOND’s workforce development, recruitment, and long-term employee and organizational success.
“By investing in our people, we are investing in the future of BOND. We created this new Chief Human Resources Officer position to double-down on our current best practices, expand our leadership team, and ensure we’re able boost employee productivity, innovation, and engagement for the long-term,” said Tony Bond, CEO & President, BOND Brothers, Inc.
The addition of this position aligns with BOND’s spirit for growth and commitment to working with their employees to help drive the firm’s success through their own development, progress and career advancement. As a company, BOND strongly believes that a more diverse, fair, and inclusive workplace boosts employee productivity, innovation, and engagement. It is a notion that underwrites all major human resources decisions they have made and will make moving forward, including establishing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in 2021, a Women in Construction group and other employee affinity groups, and the company’s ‘Blueprint’ performance assessment process.
As Chief Human Resources Officer, Brown will be responsible for designing and executing a human resource strategy to support each of BOND’s subsidiary companies, as well as its overall strategic objectives. Along with attracting, developing, and retaining the best and brightest workforce in the industry, Brown will also be charged with providing strategic leadership through organizational development, performance and career management, employee engagement, talent development, and succession and workforce planning.
“Vanessa is a consensus builder, culture and change champion, and transformative leader who brings a successful track record of recruitment, retention, and optimization, which has made her an effective and inclusive leader, and we look forward to implementing her successful tactics within our company framework,” said Bond.
Brown brings 20 years of human resources experience to BOND. From startups to large institutions, spanning media, higher education, and technology, Brown has served as a key advisor, team builder, and business partner who has proven adept at building HR departments and functions, scaling infrastructure and companywide initiatives, and leading cohesive, high-functioning teams. In her past positions, she has been instrumental in leveraging data to improve recruitment and diminish turnover, streamline functions to maximize workflow, and support culture and change management.
“I am thrilled to join BOND Brothers in this new, transformative role, and am eager to lend my experience and expertise to enhance an impressive organization and support current and future employees,” said Brown. “I believe attaining that success starts from strengthening the culture and infrastructure within the company. Through implementing forward-thinking, people-centered human resources strategies and key management tools, it is my intention to become an asset to BOND and its employees.”
BOND strives to create a framework that fuels teamwork, innovation, and excellence in all things by prioritizing what they build, who they build for, and how that impacts their communities. They are always excited to grow their team with new members, such as Brown, and to evolve their skills and abilities as a company. They feel confident that the addition of Brown to the BOND family will be a key component to cementing a future of sustainable growth within the company and the construction industry.
